Kinexon launches new optical shot tracking solution to pair with basketball wearables

Kinexon is introducing a new optical shot tracking solution, Compete Vision, that pairs with its popular basketball wearables to become the first complete solution marrying physical load and shooting data. Kinexon Compete Vision is available for beta customers and automatically identifies players and their shot stats from a sideline camera. When combined with the Kinexon wearable, which is the most used device in the NBA, it can calculate a new metric, Shot Load.

Previously, tactical and technical data was collected separately from physical performance data. Catapult and ShotTracker, for example, partnered in 2019 to integrate the disparate data streams. Noah Basketball, a standalone shot-tracking system used by 26 NBA teams, also offers an API data integration.
