The new Nike hands-free shoe, the Go Flyease, was talked about by host Jimmy Fallon, who noted he “loves to come up with ideas and any weird invention.” Fallon: “I had this idea for a new sneaker I was going to pitch to Nike and it was called the Steplock.” Fallon said he was “friends with some of the people over at Nike and I’ve done things with them before for charity.” Fallon said he presented his shoe design to Nike and they told him “this is so great that we want to show you something and they showed me this presentation of something they’ve been working on for ten years and it’s called the Flyease.” Fallon was sent a pair of the Flyease shoes and said, “I have nothing to do with this at all” ( “The Tonight Show,” NBC, 2/1).

CBS’ Stephen Colbert said “we are less than a week away from the biggest game in men’s football: the Super Bowl.” Colbert: “Everybody knows the best part of Super Bowl Sunday is the party, getting together with friends for chips, dips, eating cold cuts with your hands and staying in the kitchen most of the time because you have PTSD from the searing abuse you suffered at the hands of your high school’s jocks. Of course, like everything else humans enjoy the pandemic has cancelled all that and the CDC has released new guidance on how to safely enjoy the big game” (“The Late Show,” CBS, 2/1).
