LAFC, Galaxy eye fans at home games in '21

The Galaxy and LAFC are "hopeful they will be allowed to welcome a limited number of fans into their stadiums when the MLS regular season opens next month." The season will kick off April 17, although it is "unknown whether either team will play its opener at home since the league has not released its schedule." Reps for both clubs said that they are "awaiting direction from Gov. Gavin Newsom’s office and local health authorities." Some restrictions have been lifted in California, but L.A. County "remains in the most restrictive purple tier, indicating widespread transmission of the virus." As such, most large gatherings remain banned (L.A. TIMES, 3/3).
