Sources: Northwestern promotes Mike Polisky to AD

Northwestern is promoting Mike Polisky to AD, "ending a lengthy search for Jim Phillips' successor," according to sources. Polisky, who has served as Northwestern Deputy AD/External Affairs since June '10, will be announced as AD today. Northwestern "spoke with several" sitting ADs about replacing Phillips but "narrowed its search" recently to Polisky, Duke Senior Deputy AD Nina King and several others in recent weeks, sources indicated. Polisky "had been seen as the favorite to succeed Phillips, but the hiring was delayed as Northwestern investigated a federal lawsuit filed by a former cheerleader that named Polisky, three others and the university" (ESPN.com, 5/2).
