Texans RB Mark Ingram II purchased a "small stake in DC United," according to two sources close to the deal. A formal announcement is expected today. Ingram reportedly "owns about 1 percent of the MLS team." Separately, two "additional investors are in negotiations to buy stakes of similar value to Ingram’s." They were not identified, but "both are believed to be DC business figures." Several individuals have "small stakes in the club." Team co-chairs Stephen Kaplan and CEO Jason Levien "recently had been seeking to sell" up to 5% of the organization, per one source. Sportico was first to report the Ingram deal (WASHINGTON POST, 6/4).
