A's draw their biggest home crowd this season

The A's on Monday notched a 5-1 home win over the Blue Jays before an announced crowd of 24,403, "their largest home crowd of the season" at RingCentral Coliseum. The A’s "recognized Matt Chapman, their former third baseman now with the Blue Jays, in his return to the Coliseum." The team "aired a highlight video of Chapman during pre-game stretch." Before Monday, the A’s had averaged 8,359 fans for their first 36 home games, "lowest in the majors." The 4th of July holiday and a "post-game fireworks show helped create perhaps the liveliest atmosphere at the Coliseum yet this season" (S.F. CHRONICLE, 7/4).
