Chelsea to hire Tom Glick in leading role

EPL club Chelsea is set to appoint former City Football Group and Carolina Panthers exec Tom Glick to "take over day-to-day running of the club." Glick will be named a club director and, "while an exact job title is not yet clear, he will assume many of the responsibilities previously held by Marina Granovskaia." Glick will bring "significant football experience with him to Stamford Bridge." He returned to the U.S. as President of the Panthers and their holding company, Tepper Sports & Entertainment, and "played a leading role in Charlotte FC's entry into MLS this season" (ESPN.com, 7/1).
