The PGA Tour is "considering shortening the amateur portion" of the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am to 36 holes played on Thursday and Friday "only over two courses, rather than all 72 holes over three courses with a 54-hole cut to the top 30 teams." This comes as the Tour is "expected to make" the event designated beginning in 2024. Jack Nicklaus last weekend "spilled the beans" about the event's status. The field for the event has suffered in recent years, as last month's tournament featured "just three of the top 20 and 21 of the top 100 players in the world" (GOLFWEEK, 3/2).
