Some very rough news. Per @GlennStout, the Best American Sports Writing series will end after the 2020 edition. End of a great run.

Two once-major media sites said a final farewell yesterday: TV By The Numbers, the last vestige of Tribune's Zap2It; and TV Week, once a mighty weekly trade. I owe my career to Crain's Electronic Media (later TV Week), starting as a Chicago-based editorial asst. in 1995. RIP!

So, an update: 8 weeks after my surgery, my surgeon said Friday that my blood test came back very good, my PSA is undetectable, and he is turning me back over to my other doctor for continued monitoring for the next few years. He's not expecting to see me again. Good news! 😆
