With the addition of Rutgers and Maryland this year, the Big Ten moved into markets that previously were off limits to Delany’s conference. Delany wasted no time in announcing that the 2017 basketball tournament will be played in Washington, D.C. Delany and the Big Ten set the pace with expansion and a conference TV network, and he has showed no signs of slowing down.
