he U.S. Olympic Committee continues to re-establish itself in the international Olympic community, with the next challenge for Probst and Blackmun being whether to submit a bid for the 2024 Summer Games. The USOC has identified four cities — Boston, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Washington — for a potential bid, which would be the first U.S. Games in more than 20 years. Team USA also had its best Winter Games performance outside of North America, with nine gold medals and, trailing only host Russia, 28 medals overall in Sochi.
