Silver continues to live a charmed life as he completes his second year as NBA commissioner. There’s a river of new cash flowing into the league, highlighted by the $1 billion Nike apparel deal that begins with the 2017-18 season. Silver also is striking a conciliatory tone with the players union as he pushes his optimistic view of the league avoiding a work stoppage with a December 2016 CBA opt-out looming.
