Amazon has experimented with several alternate casts on its " TNF " production, and while the most prominent has been the choice of audio, the analytics-heavy Prime Vision stream has also been running all season, notes SportTechie's Joe Lemire.
Tonight marks the debut of a collaboration with LeBron James and Maverick Carter’s Uninterrupted called "TNF in The Shop," a livestream adaptation of the HBO show's format. Other alternate audio feeds include Hannah Storm and Andrea Kremer, a Scout’s Feed, Spanish language, Dude Perfect commentary and, back in 2018, a feed geared toward novice international fans.
Through its AWS division, Amazon is already the titular sponsor of the NFL’s Next Gen Stats, powered by the player-tracking data collected from RFID chips in every player’s shoulder pads, and those metrics are infused into the Prime Vision broadcasts. The calling card of Prime Vision is the quantitative flourishes with the tactical viewpoints, all while maintaining the audio feed of primary broadcasters Al Michaels and Kirk Herbstreit.
The additional graphics -- produced in tandem with Second Spectrum -- can help visualize a game plan’s otherwise overlooked strategy. SportTechie's David Rumsey in September reviewed Amazon's "TNF" season opener and highlighted the Prime Vision stream.
