NFL: Peacock-exclusive WC game 'big step forward'

A top NFL exec called Saturday's Dolphins-Chiefs Wild Card game airing exclusively on Peacock as a "big step forward" in the league's push to streaming outlets. NFL EVP/Media Distribution Hans Schroeder in a conference call said, "It remains very important to increase our presence across digital." He stressed that the agreement to exclusively stream a playoff game is "only for this year" and will be evaluated in the offseason. NBC Sports President Rick Cordella said that the goal for Saturday's game is to "have a great production," noting that the commercial-free fourth quarter first executed during Peacock's only other exclusive broadcast of the season -- the Dec. 23 Bills-Chargers game -- will return "with some updates."
