In Dallas, Nate Sanchez noted footwear industry reporter Nick DePaula revealed that ANTA has signed Mavericks C Daniel Gafford, Clippers F Derrick Jones Jr. and Cavaliers G Caris LeVert to shoe deals. ANTA also launched Mavericks G Kyrie Irving’s new ANTA KAI 1 “Team” model, which LeVert, Jones and Gafford will “all play in when they take the floor this season.” The shoes are “available in four different colorways” for a retail price of $100 ( DALLAS MORNING NEWS, 1/8 ).
ON THE ICE : LPGA golfer Brooke Henderson dropped the ceremonial first puck before Thursday’s Sabres-Senators game as part of a three-year deal she signed last year with the Senators to serve “in an ambassador capacity.” Henderson, who was born an hour outside of Ottawa, also will wear Senators-branded gear during LPGA competition. She said, “To finish 2024, I was staring to wear it once a week. It was a great sense of pride, and I felt like I was supporting all the guys out on the ice by wearing it” (“Sabres-Senators,” TSN, 1/9 ).
