Morning Hot Reads: NHL won't show McDavid, other stars leniency

The Oilers star forward, the "face of the NHL," received a three-game suspension for his cross-check to Canucks W Conor Garland. The NHL didn't "show any leniency for the sport's greatest showman," but the league historically "hasn't given any deference to its own star power, so why should we be surprised?" In essence, the NHL will "never protect its superstars like the NFL does with its quarterbacks" and the players "know it."
