The Ohio Department of Development awarded FC Cincinnati $26M in tax credits, giving the MLS club "what it needs to begin construction" on its $332M TQL Stadium-adjacent entertainment district. The state gave out $100M in credits to projects representing $2B in developments across Ohio, with FC Cincinnati receiving "the second-largest amount from the state." Now with the state funding, FC Cincinnati CFO Chad Munitz said that the project"will likely begin construction this summer with an estimated completion date" of summer 2027. Approvals for the final design plan "will have to go through Cincinnati's planning commission first" during the spring (CINCINNATI ENQUIRER, 1/28).
