Serena Williams buys stake in Toronto Tempo

Former tennis player Serena Williams “will have a stake” in the Toronto Tempo, the WNBA expansion team primarily owned by Larry Tanenbaum‘s Kilmer Sports Ventures. The team said in the announcement that Williams will “play an active role in future jersey designs and will help forge unique merchandise collaborations.” Williams’ investment in the team is “pending final league approval” (TORONTO STAR, 3/3).
