The Cook Out Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium “has been postponed by a few more days,” with NASCAR now aiming for Wednesday to hold the race. On-track activity “will include practice and qualifying” held at 1:30pm ET and will be carried on the Fox Sports App. The Last Chance Qualifier race will be at 4:30pm and air on Fox, and the Clash will be held at 6pm, also on Fox. Winston-Salem, N.C., the home of Bowman Gray Stadium, received 11 inches of snowfall over the weekend. It was the same in Charlotte, “where most of the NASCAR teams are based” (RACER, 2/1).
Justin Swilling, the project manager for the event, said, “Moving the Cook Out Clash to Wednesday, Feb. 4 gives us the best opportunity to hold this event with fans at Bowman Gray Stadium while allowing the City of Winston-Salem to dedicate all of their resources to respond to the needs created by this historic weather event.” Fans who cannot “make it to Bowman Gray Stadium for Wednesday night’s Cook Out Clash race have a chance to get their money back.” If fans “want a credit instead, NASCAR will give them a 120% credit toward any other NASCAR race, except Daytona and Homestead” (WINSTON-SALEM JOURNAL, 2/1).
