LSU athletics will have a “new reporting structure” under AD Verge Ausberry, who will oversee the department while tabbing a handful of administrators to “lead the charge with raising money for certain programs,” according to Koki Riley of the New Orleans TIMES-PICAYUNE. Exec Deputy AD & COO Julie Cromer will carry on as the “overseer of the football team,” which she will do alongside Deputy AD & CRO Clay Harris, who has been tasked with “being the point person for raising money for the football program.” LSU’s new Senior Deputy AD & Executive Dir/External Relations for the LSU System Heath Schroyer, who was hired Thursday away from McNeese State, is the “new lead administrator for the men’s basketball team.” Ausberry is “optimistic” that Schroyer’s connections in southwest Louisiana can “open up a new stream of revenue” for the athletic department. Senior Associate AD/Facilities Operations and Events Dan Gaston will continue to oversee baseball, but LSU has also tasked Deputy AD & Chief Strategy Officer Zach Greenwell with “leading the charge when it comes to raising NIL money for the program.” Ausberry also noted that Senior Associate AD & SWA Miriam Segar is “supervising the women’s basketball team,” with Greenwell leading the team’s “administrative NIL efforts” (New Orleans TIMES-PICAYUNE, 3/31).
