In Toronto, Natasha Baldin noted all of PWHL club Ottawa Charge’s home postseason games “will be held at” the Senators’ Canadian Tire Centre. The announcement came just minutes after the club clinched a postseason berth with a 3-0 win over the Toronto Sceptres on Saturday. Earlier this season, the Charge set a league attendance record in Ottawa during its only game of the season at the Canadian Tire Centre (TORONTO SUN, 4/25).
WHERE THEY GO? The MONTREAL GAZETTE wrote fences surrounding the Bell Centre’s Canadiens outdoor playoff watch party area on Canadiens-de-Montréal Ave. have “been removed.” Montreal police spokesperson Jean-Pierre Brabant said the fences were removed “for safety reasons,” as high fences of the type would be “potentially dangerous if an evacuation were necessary.” Brabant said “another sort of barrier,” presumably a lower one, would probably be installed in place of the higher fences. He said that police were “in discussion about the issue” with the Canadiens (MONTREAL GAZETTE, 4/26).
