The creator of Netflix’s “Full Swing” says he hopes the golf series will return for a fifth season in 2027. Chad Mumm, who launched the show in 2023 alongside Box to Box Films and Vox Media, said at the PGA Championship that a fifth season would be at the “top of the list” of potential projects in 2027.
Filming for a fifth season hasn’t begun; a timeline wasn’t clear. Season 4 dropped on April 17, the week after the Masters, the latest debut date yet for the show. Prior seasons debuted earlier in February or March.
While the drama around LIV Golf was a main theme in earlier seasons, Mumm sees the change coming to the PGA Tour as another option if the series is renewed for another year.
“The big changes coming to the PGA Tour schedule I think will create a lot of strong feelings in the locker room,” Mumm said. “And anytime there’s strong feelings, that’s good for us. It’s real drama.”
The first two seasons had eight episodes each, while Season 3 had seven. Season 4 had four episodes.
Mumm was a co-producer on “Happy Gilmore 2” that released last year and also has been working on the new Will Ferrell golf comedy series, “The Hawk,” which debuts this summer on Netflix with 10 episodes.
