A group of top tennis players are “considering boycotting the US Open’s mixed doubles event this year amid the prize money dispute.” Players, including ATP No. 1 Jannik Sinner, may “threaten to skip the event to pressurise organisers into boosting the prize pot,” along with “making substantial improvements to player welfare and affording them greater say in decision-making.” It is the “latest threat” by top players demanding that grand-slam events increase the prize money on offer (London TIMES, 6/12).
