MLB Network has added a former GM to its talent roster. As part of its Draft Combine coverage on June 23, Mike Rizzo, who won a title in 2019 with the Nationals, will serve as an analyst for the event.

Rizzo was the GM and president of baseball operations for the Nationals though the middle of last July, when he was let go by the team. He was the team’s GM when the club selected Stephen Strasburg (2009) and Bryce Harper (2010) with first overall picks. He joins Dan O’Dowd as the ex-MLB GMs who are part of MLB Net’s Draft Combine coverage.

MLB said there are 334 draft-eligible names set to take part in the showcase at Chase Field in Phoenix, which will be hosting the combine for the fourth consecutive year. Launched in 2021 as a showcase for draft-eligible college and high school players, the combine will have June 23 coverage on MLB Network beginning at noon ET. Coverage will also be streamed live on MLB.TV, MLB.com and in the MLB App. Combine workouts on June 24 will be streamed across MLB’s digital platforms.

The MLB Draft will be held on July 11 in Philadelphia as part of All-Star Week, with the first 90 minutes airing on NBC/Peacock (1-2:30pm ET). MLB Network and Peacock will air the rest of Round 1 starting at 2:30pm ET.
