K.C. has easily been the hottest market for Fox Sports’ World Cup matches with a 4.32 local rating, and the city, which is home to six games during the tournament, has easily outpaced No. 2 Boston (3.53). Rounding out the top five markets for games that have aired on Fox/FS1 are Austin (3.34), Dallas-Fort Worth (3.24) and San Diego (3.23). Half of the top 10 markets are hosting FIFA World Cup matches this summer, while nine of the top 10 markets for Fox’s coverage thus far are MLS markets. The lone stand out -- Richmond-Petersburg, Va. -- is home to a USL League One squad. Four years ago, the top markets for the World Cup from Qatar were D.C., N.Y., Austin, S.F.-San Jose-Oakland and West Palm Beach. Looking more broadly across the first 24 telecasts of the World Cup, 20.79 billion minutes were viewed across the games on Fox, Telemundo and FS1.
