World Cup final on Fox sets U.S. soccer viewership record

The World Cup final on Sunday drew 38,937,000 viewers on Fox as the “most-watched soccer telecast in U.S. history.” The viewership of Spain’s 1-0 extra-time victory over Argentina was a 132% increase over the 2022 final of Argentina-France in Qatar (16.784M), and the broadcast reached a peak audience of 51,685,000 from 5:45-6pm ET. Also, Spain-Argentina is the most-watched non-NFL telecast on any network since 2016, when Game 7 of the World Series received 40.050M viewers on Fox (X, 7/21).
