UFC’s first ESPN event is scheduled for Jan. 19 at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, according to sources. Some of the event’s fights will be carried on ESPN’s main linear cable channel, while others will be carried on its ESPN+ streaming service. UFC has not yet decided which fighters will headline the event; those matchups are expected to be made in early December. ESPN in May signed a five-year, $1.5B deal to carry up to 42 events annually across ESPN and ESPN+. UFC’s deal with Fox ends next month. Fox will carry eight more UFC events this year, the last one coming on Dec. 15.
