Sources: Peyton Manning Not Joining ESPN's "MNF" Booth

Peyton Manning will not join ESPN's "MNF" booth this season, according to sources. The decision "ends years of back and forth" between Manning and ESPN management. Network President Jimmy Pitaro  "flew to Denver to personally meet with Manning on March 11." However, sources said that ESPN "never made a formal contract offer" to Manning for the "MNF" job. The on-air role has been left vacant as  Jason Witten returns to the Cowboys as a player ( SPORTINGNEWS.com, 4/22 ).
