TBS looking to have Bob Costas host NLCS coverage

Bob Costas and TBS are "working toward an agreement that would see him host" the network’s NLCS broadcasts Oct. 15-24. TBS "wanted to alleviate the pressure on TBS’ regular host, Ernie Johnson," as his duties on “Inside the NBA” begin in mid-October. Johnson is "expected to host the opening rounds of TBS’ playoff coverage." Johnson and now potentially Costas will "work with Pedro Martinez, Jimmy Rollins and Curtis Granderson." The timing of the assignment "lines up for Costas, as it would fall after he calls MLB Network divisional round games." He also is "usually at the World Series for MLB Network" (N.Y. POST, 8/20).
