The Seahawks joined the Sounders and the Univ. of Washington in announcing that all fans 12 and older "will be required to show proof they are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or present a negative test within 72 hours" of games at Lumen Field this season. For the Kraken, all events at Climate Pledge Arena "will require proof of vaccination for entry and a mask to be worn." The Seahawks also are requiring all fans over age five to "wear masks while attending all outdoor events with crowds larger than 500 people," keeping in step with local guidelines (SEATTLE TIMES, 9/7).
The Seahawks become the third NFL team to adopt some form of COVID-19 vaccine mandate, joining the Raiders and Saints (Ben Fischer, SBJ). The Kraken join several NHL teams who have adopted some form of vaccine mandate for this season, including the Blackhawks, Canadiens, Maple Leafs and Sharks (SBJ).
