Angels P/DH Shohei Ohtani will grace the cover of Sony's "MLB The Show 22," making him the "first Asian player to be on the cover for the iconic video game series" (ORANGE COUNTY REGISTER, 1/31). Ohtani is "quickly becoming one of the faces of baseball." The '21 AL MVP is "interested in growing the game and wants to use the cover as a way to do so." The game is "available for pre-order and is expected on April 5 ... even if the MLB lockout delays 2022 Opening Day" (CBSSPORTS.com, 1/31). This year, the game will be available on Nintendo Switch for the first time (SBJ).
