Expansion is a high priority for the WNBA, and Commissioner Cathy Engelbert said the league has narrowed a list of a hundred potential cities “down to 20 or so.” Engelbert: “We’re not that far down the road with any one, but we’re going to get there. I haven’t been shy about saying that we wanted to transform the business and economic model so that our existing owners and new owners have a higher chance to be successful.” She went on to list a half dozen of the cities that are potential homes for a franchise.
