TikTok named title sponsor of Women’s Six Nations

TikTok has been unveiled as the first title sponsor for the Women’s Six Nations, which organizers have described as a “seminal moment” for the female game. The four-year deal will see the female championship renamed as the TikTok Women’s Six Nation's, starting with the '22 edition, and is expected to provide a "significant financial boost to the competition." It marks a landmark development in the history of the women’s tournament after organizers had come under "increasing pressure to attract a viable commercial partner." Organizers have yet to confirm whether any prize money will be made available for the women's championship. The prize pot for the men's Six Nations, which is halfway through a £50M ($66.8M) sponsorship deal with Guinness, hit a record £16M ($21.4M) last year. The financial terms of TikTok's deal were not disclosed (London TELEGRAPH, 1/27).
