Former MLBer JIM LEYRITZ yesterday was "hit with a wrongful-death suit" for his role in a December car accident in Florida that led to the death of Fredia Ann Veitch . Authorities said that Leyritz slammed into Veitch's car after running a red light. A blood test three hours after the incident revealed Leyritz "had a blood-alcohol level of .14, almost twice the legal limit." The lawsuit calls for damages "in excess of $15,000," but "could be worth millions" (N.Y. POST, 3/26). FORE: New Orleans-based chef PAUL PRUDHOMME yesterday morning was setting up his tent on the practice range at the PGA Tour's Zurich Classic of New Orleans when a bullet "cut the skin on [his] arm and left a hole in his white chef's coat."
