TWC Not Planning To Air Final Dodgers Games Over The Air Like It Did In '14

Time Warner Cable does not plan to extend a "goodwill gesture" to Dodgers fans without SportsNet LA by repeating last year's move to air the "final six games of the regular season" on KDOC-Ind., according to Shaikin & Hernandez of the L.A. TIMES. The Dodgers are "on the verge of making a third consecutive postseason appearance for the first time in franchise history." However, TWC "has not been able to sell" SportsNet LA to all area distributors since the RSN launched last year. Charter added the net in June and TWC "has renewed talks with other distributors, without success." Federal regulators are "expected to approve the Charter-TWC merger after the current baseball season ends, after which Charter would take over negotiations with other distributors" ( L.A. TIMES, 9/9 ) .
