PGA of America CEO Pete Bevacqua on Thursday said holding the '20 PGA Championship in May is "very much on the table," according to Rex Hoggard of GOLFCHANNEL.com. Just as the event was held two weeks earlier than usual this year to accommodate the Rio Games, Bevacqua said that planning is "already underway to avoid future scheduling issues" with the '20 Tokyo Games. He said, "We are huge proponents of the Olympics. We are all about the Olympics, but we also have to protect the PGA Championship and we can't just bounce the PGA Championship around every four years." Hoggard noted the '20 PGA is slated for Harding Park in S.F., which "gives the organization flexibility to hold the event earlier in the season" ( GOLFCHANNEL.com, 11/10 ).
