Rogers Place Keeps Restrooms Converted For Now; Oilers Add Staffers To Deal With Traffic

The bathrooms at Rogers Place last night for Ducks-Oilers Game 4 "remained converted" despite complaints from some female fans of long lines, according to Donna Spencer of the CP. Oilers Entertainment Group Senior VP/Corporate Communications Tim Shipton said that "stanchions to expedite queues and more staff to direct people were added" to the arena. Shipton: "We all think it will add up to an improvement." He said the arena would review the situation following the game, and if there were "things we need to change, we will do so." Shipton said that it is a "practice at Rogers Place to switch genders on washrooms depending on what type of audience an event draws." Men's restrooms "became women's" for Dixie Chicks, Lumineers, Dolly Parton and John Mayer concerts. Shipton: "We know for playoff hockey, the demographic skews towards a male crowd" (CP, 5/3).
