Open For Business: McGregor Not Limited To Reebok Apparel For Mayweather Fight

Audie Attar, the manager for UFC fighter Conor McGregor, indicated his client is a "free agent as it relates to athletic apparel" for the upcoming fight against Floyd Mayweather Jr. on Aug. 26. Attar yesterday appeared on "The MMA Hour" podcast and said, "We let a lot of our deals lapse so there are a lot of open categories that we’ve been negotiating with brands, including Reebok. We’ll see how that all plays out.” Fighters are required to wear Reebok apparel during UFC-sanctioned events, but the Mayweather fight is a boxing match outside of the MMA promotion's jurisdiction. Podcast host Ariel Helwani said, "I can’t even imagine the offers that are coming your way now for this. He’s a free agent for this! That might be your greatest coup of them all.” Attar: “It’s definitely a great opportunity” (“The MMA Hour,” MMAFIGHTING.com, 6/19).
