Dolphins Vice Chair MATT HIGGINS made an appearance on ABCâs â SHARK TANK â last night, where he invested in Beyond Sushi, a vegan restaurant concept. Higgins also invested, along with the other four sharks on the show, in Cup Board Pro, a chopping board with a detachable bowl for easy cleanup which was started by a former N.Y. firefighter who assisted in the 9/11 cleanup and later passed away due to illness from those efforts. All five sharks offered $100,000 for a 20% stake with all their profits going to a firefighter-related charity. The broadcast aired a taped profile on Higgins where he talked about growing up âreally poorâ in Queens and how he âmade a decision at a very early age that I wasnât going to let poverty dictate the rest of my future." Higgins: âI donât invest in ideas. Ideas are cheap. I invest in people, special people, who have what it takes to take that idea and go the distanceâ ( âShark Tank,â ABC, 10/21 ).
