Adidas yesterday pulled a shoe from its Black History Month lineup "following social media backlash," as the "all-white shoe drew ire from consumers." The shoe was "part of a new collection featuring designs inspired by the Harlem Renaissance." The shoe in question was "all-white and part of the 'Uncaged' line -- it immediately drew criticism from consumers for its color and name" (ADAGE.com, 2/4).
LOOKIN' GOOD: Rockets F P.J. Tucker "collaborated with Italian designer Giuseppe Zanotti on a sneaker that was released in December," and the his "latest collaboration, a shirt from New York designers Ovadia & Sons, will go on sale this weekend." Tucker has "long been a fan of the brand," and was "thrilled when the company approached him with the idea of designing something for the label" (AP, 2/1).
FAMILY AFFAIR: Heat G Dwyane Wade and wife Gabrielle Union were "spotted shooting a commercial on Sunday at Anatomy fitness center in Miami Beach." The spot will "run in the spring" (NYPOST.com, 2/4).
