A's Tweak Howard Terminal Ballpark Design With Rounded Shape

"BEAUTY-Athletics"

The A's have "released updated renderings of the proposed ballpark at Howard Terminal," having "tweaked the design of the original boxy structure to provide better views of the bay and Oakland" after feedback from fans and public officials, according to S.F.-based KPIX-CBS. The new design is "more circular while retaining the distinctive elevated park that wraps around the frame" of the 34,000-seat ballpark. The venue would be the "anchor of a new waterfront district featuring housing, office and retail space." The A's have "yet to acquire the Howard Terminal" property, but the team "hopes to break ground" on the ballpark by '21 and open it in '23 (SANFRANCISCO.CBSLOCAL.com, 2/25).
