Apple yesterday rolled out new outdoor ads on the exteriors of U.S. and Canadian arenas that feature "photos taken on the iPhone XS" by top NHL players, showcasing "candid moments with their teammates" as part of the Shot on iPhone campaign, according to David Griner of ADWEEK. Participating teams include the Lightning, Capitals, Blues, Oilers, Hurricanes, Coyotes, Senators and Flyers. Apple said that the campaign will also "feature more shots via Instagram Stories with a 'day in the life' theme" (ADWEEK.com, 2/27). APPLEINSIDER.com's Malcolm Owen noted the campaign "will not just consist of billboards, as a social media effort will feature more images, as well as Instagram Stories to show behind-the-scenes in the locker rooms." The overall campaign is part of a "long-term association Apple has with the NHL" (APPLEINSIDER.com, 2/27).
