Syracuse Poised To Clip Kentucky In Men's Basketball Attendance

Syracuse men's basketball seems set to "lead the nation in attendance" for the '18-19 season after finishing second to Kentucky for each of the past three years, according to Mike Waters of the Syracuse POST-STANDARD. On Monday, Syracuse played Virginia in front of 29,052 fans at the Carrier Dome, which brought the school’s "average attendance for its 19 games this season to 21,992 per game." Syracuse appears to have an "almost insurmountable attendance lead over Kentucky, which is currently second in the nation this season" with a 21,553 average. Kentucky has one final home game against Florida on Saturday, and even if UK draws a crowd similar to the 24,467 it saw for its matchup against Tennessee two weeks ago, the "average attendance for the season will only go up to 21,695." That is "roughly 300 fans per game shy of Syracuse’s mark" (Syracuse POST-STANDARD, 3/7).
