Twitter won Best in Mobile Fan Experience at the Sports Business Awards, as the platform continues to raise the stakes as a sports content provider. Twitter Head of U.S. Sports TJ Adeshola, who accepted the award, said the service views itself as a “global sports bar -- it’s always on, and it’s an open bar.” Over the last year, Twitter garnered headlines for its work with the NBA on the first single-player camera during the All-Star Game and for its work with Fox Sports around its World Cup coverage. Adeshola said Twitter’s “care more approach” in dealing with partners has led to deeper relationships that has led to more and more sports content on the platform. “Twitter has come a long way from just highlights,” he said.
