Social Network Press Sports Raises $750,000 Pre-Seed Round

Atlanta-based Press Sports, a social media app for sharing sports highlights, has announced a $750,000 pre-seed funding round. The app is intended to be used by athletes, fans, coaches, and teams.

Funding was led by Atlanta-based venture capital firm Overline, with additional investment from Central Piedmont Investment Group and Sound Media Ventures. The new capital will allow Press Sports to grow its staff, which will double from five to 10 employees by the end of this year.

“As they build their fanbase on the app, student athletes will be well positioned for the NCAA NIL rule changes expected to take effect next Fall, which will allow college players to monetize their name, image and likeness directly through our app,” Press Sports co-founder Drew Williams said in a statement.
