MLB says 83% of Tier 1 personnel partially or fully vaccinated

MLB on Friday announced that five clubs have reached the threshold of 85% of their Tier 1 personnel being fully vaccinated (at least two weeks past final doses), meaning those teams can start implementing relaxed COVID-19 protocols. Additionally, seven other clubs have reached the 85% threshold, and after two weeks have passed, they also can begin implementing the relaxed protocols. All told, MLB said that 83% of Tier 1 personnel across the league have been partially or fully vaccinated (MLB). Meanwhile, there were 10,330 COVID-19 tests conducted this week, "with 0 new positive tests" among MLB players and staff members. There was "1 positive test (a staff member) at an Alternate Site; a 0.009% positive rate" (TWITTER.com, 5/7).
