Laugh Track: Queen's English

Actress Hannah Waddingham said despite playing an owner of an English soccer club on “Ted Lasso,” she does not have a “clue” about anything soccer-related. Waddingham: “But I think that's good because (her character) Rebecca is not meant to know anything about it either, so I was being method.” She also noted she has spoken up to the writers of the show about correcting something that maybe an American would say but not an Englishperson, but "I was nervous about doing at first." Waddingham: “I literally felt like I was Mary Poppins on set going, ‘That is not how we speak the queen's English, boys’” ( “Late Night,” NBC, 8/11).
