The Emmys last night showered Apple TV+'s “Ted Lasso” with "wins for best comedy series, leading man Jason Sudeikis, supporting actress Hannah Waddingham and supporting actor Brett Goldstein." The soccer-themed series "earned 20 nominations for its first season, winning three Emmys at the Creative Arts ceremony last week." Sunday’s trophies "brought the series’ total wins to seven" (L.A. TIMES, 9/20). New episodes of "Ted Lasso" drop Fridays on Apple TV+, with the Season 2 finale available Oct. 8 on the streaming platform. The show "received an early renewal" for Season 3 in October '20 (PEOPLE.com, 9/19).
