The Tom Ricketts- Ken Griffin- Dan Gilbert group “has pulled out” of the running purchase Chelsea; final bids were due Thursday. The EPL club in a statement said that “it became increasingly clear that certain issues could not be addressed given the unusual dynamics around the sale’s process.” The move is "not due to any fan protest." Rather, "there were concerns about some elements within the group and they couldn’t reach an agreement on the structure of the deal between the three parties in the group." This leaves "three groups still in the running to takeover Chelsea” (Sky Sports News, 4/15).
