'SportsCenter' host Neil Everett leaving ESPN

Neil Everett, a longtime anchor on ESPN’s flagship "SportsCenter" show, is "leaving the network." Everett, who has been at the network for 23 years, is a "victim of the latest round of Walt Disney-mandated cutbacks" at the network’s television and radio outlets. Everett has been "one of ESPN’s most popular anchors," and he had been working with Stan Verrett in L.A. since 2009. Verrett "remains with the network." Everett "will look to increase his role" with the Trail Blazers, who hired him in October 2021 as a pregame, halftime and postgame host for road games (Portland OREGONIAN, 6/8).
